Crossrail to be assessed under CEEQUAL
17 October 2009
The UK’s largest and most prominent civil engineering project has signed up to carry out a series of CEEQUAL assessments. The £15.9 billion Crossrail project is scheduled to take eight years to complete and required its own Act of Parliament, which was passed in July 2008, to go ahead.
Full construction will start in 2010 and a team of CEEQUAL Verifiers is being appointed to work with the Assessors from Crossrail.
The CEEQUAL Team is particularly proud to have another such high-profile scheme taking part in a CEEQUAL assessment. CEEQUAL’s Chief Executive Roger Venables says: “It is extremely satisfying for us when a project team as distinguished as that running Crossrail decides that CEEQUAL provides them with the right tool to influence and assess their environmental and social performance. We look forward very much to working with Rob Paris and his colleagues.”
